To All You Dad's

A BIG "HAPPY FATHER'S DAY"I know I have the best dad ever! He is so many things and really just a thank you, a phone call, a small gift, an I love you isn't enough to even begin to show my love and appreciation. But sometimes there aren't always words to express how truly blessed we are. I hope all the dad's, step-dad's, uncle's, and anyone who has been a father figure to anyone, at anytime, I hope you know, someway, somehow, how very important you are in all of our lives!
Everyone needs a dad!

No more visitors

We are gonna be a little lonely around our house this week! All our visitors have come and gone. Mom and dad left Wednesday (we did get to go to breakfast with them and David, Tiffany and Sean before they headed to airport) and David and family went home Thursday. Ahh, now just back to the grind.Katie got to do lots of babysitting while they were here!
David and Tiffany made us a yummy spaghetti dinner Wednesday night! I still got to do the dishes. :)

goofing around

and we even got to give Sean his nightly bath, in our kitchen sink.
The only good thing about everyone going home is maybe I won't eat so much!!

I love it

I have been looking for something to hold my necklaces. All of them. I had even asked Bob a few days ago if he could make me something "simple". His idea of simple and mine are not the same so when I found this I was super excited. The really cool thing is it has pockets on the front and back! It has 66 pockets in all.Isn't it cool, only 20 bucks!

Thanks for the inspiration...

All of you (in blog land) provide inspiration at one time or another, but tonight my inspiration was :
Julia!
I have been telling myself every night, "I need to blog", then obviously I don't and I think I will tomorrow for sure. Obviously I didn't. Until now.
Once again, it is late, the pictures are all out of order but I will feel better because I am getting caught up and then feel like I can "try to be better!" :)
So this first picture is what I did on Saturday. I taught a lesson on Sunday on prayer and I was trying to come up with a creative idea for a handout (we take turns doing them and my turn is the 2nd Sunday of the month). I know the girls have probably seen or done the prayer rock a 1000 times but then I saw this cute idea for a pillowcase. So...
off to Walmart I went. About 50 bucks and ten hours later I was done! It is kinda hard to tell but they turned out pretty cute. Believe me, I do not do this every month. Once and a while it is fun to go the extra mile...We have had lots of graduation celebrations around here. Graduation weekend was the first weekend in June. Katie went to Brewster graduation on Friday night (her boyfriend Brian graduated, he is pictured here in the red - obviously he is not the girl in the purple haha)
of course we went to Bronte's graduation Saturday afternoon in Manson. You already know all about that from Shannon's post! It was fun.

Like I said, the pictures are out of order, so Memorial Day weekend Kyle came home for a quick weekend visit. He flew into Wenatchee on Thursday night at 11:30 pm and we put him back on a plane Sunday morning at 11:00. Bob had forgot about the holiday weekend when he made the reservations a month or so before. It was fun to see him again, it has been almost 5 months. We ate, saw a movie, shopped. What else is there to do??Katie and I went to Bronte's senior presentation. It was at the Campbell's Hotel which was very nice. Pateros does it in the library at the school so having it at Campbell's made it feel more "fancy". (sorry not quite the right word, but hey it's late...)

Just a few other items of interest:
1. Have had a great time with Mom and Dad here. They will leave tomorrow but before they do we get to have breakfast with David, Tiffany and Sean. yay!
2. Got to shop with mom (kinda funny because she told dad after shopping with me that she had been "bad" again and I was thinking I had been pretty "good" because I only bought one top, a super cheap skirt - like under 10 dollars cheap at Macy's, and some jean shorts that I really, really, NEEDED!)
3. Had a nice early father's day BBQ with dad, mom, Paul and Joe and of course us this last Sunday. Ate way too much. (can I ever stop eating...)
4. Katie was MVP for her softball team and also was voted by the other coaches in the league to "first team all league".
5. She will get straight A's again this semester.
6. School is out, let the craziness begin...
P.S. Can I mention ten weeks and counting... and I am now.

They're Here!

Time flies doesn't it? I swear we just did this, and now we (well mostly Katie) is doing it again. Raise a pig through Pateros FFA to sell at the Okanogan County Fair in September. Ahh, last year though!Katie probably wouldn't appreciate the above shot but this was delivery day. The bad thing was she "forgot" to mention until Saturday night about 7pm that the pigs would be arriving the next day around 6pm. Ugh. Not that the pig pen has to be spotless for pigs but still there is a little bit of work and plus they do need food! That meant instead of going to our building for Stake Conference on Sunday we went to Wenatchee (so we could get at least one bag of food to get by until Thursday when I can get back to Wenatchee). What can you do?
It looks awful but this it the way the piglets are carried from the trailer to their pen. They are noisy, wiggly little things and kinda hard to catch if they get away from you.

Checkin out her new home.

Whew! Long day for these little gals :)
And one last thing, I still can't believe I have a daughter who is raising a pig! Never, ever would I have thought that.

small town parade

I was so glad that Bob, Katie and I were able to go to the Manson Apple Blossom Parade this morning. We missed the Wenatchee parade because of softball. It was perfect, the sun was out, we were able to show up only 15 minutes prior to the start of the parade, we just happen to walk down the street that Bronte's float was waiting on! Enjoy the pics...

the rest of the day wasn't quite as fun. I cleaned out my closet, yikes!

by the way...

my new song on my playlist is dedicated to a movie I want to see really, really bad. There is a sneak preview tomorrow ( I won't be seeing it tomorrow) so it must open soon everywhere after that...
Letters to Juliet
it might not even be good, sometimes the anticipation of a movie is not worth it once you actually see it, but I hope this one will be.

Softball, softball, and more softball...

As mom had mentioned in her post, Katie had 7 games last week! She pitched every one of em. They won 6, lost 1. They are hoping and wishing that they get to go to state. That will be decided on the 22nd at districts. Ahh, the anticipation.

I wouldn't want to mess with her!
And of course I wanted to start with this last picture, so start from the bottom and go up.

Prom

I at least want to get one picture of prom. Katies date, Brian, is on the left and his best friend is on the right. It was a pretty low-key evening. The group went to a mexican restaurant in Brewster and after the dance Katie and her date came back here and watched a movie then he went home. That's it. Everyone had fun and is safe and sound.

I am so behind... this will be part one

Well, I managed to totally screw up my first post in a month! It's almost 11:30pm so guess what, I'm not starting over! If you want to see the introduction head down a few pictures and there it will be...bundled up for softball
David can always make Sean smile!

ah, I uploaded the wrong picture, there was a better one with Sean smiling. Kurt and Shannon came by for a little visit Thursday AM.
Here is the intro:

and to start off you will get to see Sean, Sean and more Sean! I can't help it. They came for a quick visit while mom and dad were here. I was so worried he was going to be at the age where he only likes mom (and maybe dad) but he was happy to go to anyone! At least for now.cheering Katie on

a great view from Grandpa's shoulder's

Katie didn't want them to go, they had to make a quick stop at school to say "bye" before they headed home.

he's a smiley boy! We love him lots!
Wow this was pretty messed up but that's the way it is. More to follow...

are you kidding me?

I think mother nature forgot that it is officially spring! Seriously. We had snow this morning as you can see from the pictures. That is just downright depressing!

Guess I can wear my Ugg boots for a little longer!

we had visitors...

David, Tiffany and Sean arrived about 4am Saturday morning! Lucky us! I don't need to say much, only he's just about the cutest little guy ever! And he's at the perfect age where he is very alert and interacts but isn't afraid of us. We bought a little chair that sits on the counter or a regular chair so he can catch all the action. He doesn't like to miss anything.
He enjoys his toys and especially when anyone plays with HIM with his toys!

big smile

It was a quick visit, they had to head back Sunday morning. David had a surprise planned for Tiffany for her birthday which was Sunday.

this was Katie's favorite

I thought I picked it in the last bunch but apparently I didn't. Don't worry I won't overwhelm you with a gazillion pictures of every game, just the first one.

what a difference a year can make!

First game of the season was yesterday. We played Lake Roosevelt (Grand Coulee) just like last year, except this year we won! BIG! (see last picture) Last year we lost. BAD. What a great day for a game. About 60 degrees, no wind (well OK a few breezes came up here and there), no rain. I didn't have to wear my winter boots, gloves, and wrap up in a blanket. There is still plenty of games left for that but it was sweet not having to do it. Sorry, pictures aren't in the order I want. I won't even start in on how sick I am of pictures being out of order! So here we go...yes, Katie is the one and only pitcher again

Didn't give up any runs! At one point Bob heard the other coach yell to one of her players up to bat "go ahead and be picky, she hasn't shown us anything!" Um, hello coach.
The score was 23 to 0, and they had 0.

2 for 3: a walk,

hit by a pitch! a triple and a single

just proof of the final score ;)
Bob took 297 pictures, it was hard to cut it down to just 6.
